| Dr. Curt Bonk received his master's and Ph.D. degrees in educational psychology from the University of Wisconsin in the 1980s. Dr Curt Bonk is a popular e-learning book who teaches in the department of Instructional Systems Technology and he is also adjunct in the School of Informatics at IU. These students, not surprisingly, have come to rely on easy-to-access online resources such as Google and Wikipedia as if oblivious to peer-reviewed scholarship. He has also received numerous teaching and mentoring awards from Indiana University as well as the CyberStar Award from the Indiana Information Technology Association, the Most Outstanding Achievement Award from the U.S. Distance Learning Association, and the Most Innovative Teaching in a Distance Education Program Award from the State of Indiana. A popular e-learning book, Curtis Bonk has given over 808 talks around the globe related to online teaching and learning, including ones at universities in Ireland, China, Taiwan, Thailand, Singapore, Spain, Iceland, Korea, Finland, the UK, and the Saudi Arabia. He is the author of the Handbook of Blended Learning: Global Perspectives, Local Designs (2006) as well as the author of Empowering Online Learning: 100+ Activities for Reading, Reflecting, Displaying, and Doing (2008). The Web is teeming with more than 100 million sites, up from 18,000 in 1995. While known for scoring the SAT college entrance exam in the U.S. and administrating the TOEFL exam in other countries, a new 75-minute test, offered at two levels, provides the test taker with a set of problems to solve related to abilities to organize, evaluate, and communicate electronic data. |
