| Digital literacy might not simply involve technology related knowledge, skills, and competencies, but also critical and creative thinking skills, as well as the ability to engage in collaborative teams that can find and solve problems in a technologically reliant environments. Andrea Foster notes that College students use technology constantly. They text-message friends, compile playlists for their iPods, and are whizzes at updating their MySpace profiles. He has also received numerous teaching and mentoring awards from Indiana University as well as the CyberStar Award from the Indiana Information Technology Association, the Most Outstanding Achievement Award from the U.S. Distance Learning Association, and the Most Innovative Teaching in a Distance Education Program Award from the State of Indiana.
