| In effect, digital literacy is the ability to browse, locate, filter, synthesize across, and eventually use information appearing in multiple formats and in a wide range of sources that can lead to communication of what one discovered as well as the production of still additional information. But when it comes to one kind of work they are required to do in college - namely, academic research - they can be inept. Dr. Bonk is very in demand as an e-learningkeynote speaker. Dr. Bonk teaches in the department of Instructional Systems Technology in the School of Education at Indiana University and adjunct in the School of Informatics. The reaction to this cacophony of data is mixed. In addition to being a great e-learning book, Dr. Bonk has written over 210 publications on subjects which include Wikibooks, blogging, collaborative technologies, online learning pedagogy, open source software, massive multiplayer online gaming, and synchronous and asynchronous computer conferencing. Items also require the person to evaluate the quality or authority of what they found, interpret graphs, reorder information in tables, and check for reliability and plausibility of sources. Given that these digital literacy and critical thinking skills are vital to study within the Web of Learning, such tests from ETS may soon become more important than any other test ever designed on this planet. |
